Clarence is a neighbourhood bistro located within the heritage listed ‘Shop Row’ at 617 Stanley Street, Woolloongabba.

Ben and Frank
After working together at Nineteen (The Star), Ben and Frank partnered to form Clarence in January 2022.
Ben (head chef/co-founder) began his cooking career with an apprenticeship at Circa, The Prince in St Kilda, then moved on to Moon Under Water with chef Andrew McConnell. Followed by stints at Kiyomi, and Stokehouse Q, before moving to London where he worked at Umu (2 star Michelin) and Two Lights under chef Chase Lovecky (ex Clove Club head chef). On returning to Australia he worked at Nineteen at The Star.

Frank (front of house/co-founder) has been working at some of Australia's best restaurants since the late 80's.
He spent 10 years as GM of Jacques Reyond, following this he partnered with Donovan Cooke and Philipa Sibley to open Est Est Est, Ondine and Luxe. He then moved on to ‘The Point, at Albert’park working together with Scott Pickett. Frank then spent 5 years in New York most notably managing Momfoku’s Ma Peche with Paul Charmichael at the helm, he then returned to Australia, settled in South East Queensland and has spent the past few years working at The Fish House and Nineteen at The Star.
